US President Donald Trump is expected to host a private dinner at the White House on Wednesday with several top executives, including JPMorgan Chase CEO Jamie Dimon, an administration official told Reuters news agency.
The meeting, which will also include Nasdaq's chief executive, signals Trump's efforts to deepen relations with the leaders of major corporations as his administration launches new initiatives to strengthen U.S. capital markets and rebuild domestic supply chains considered vital to national security.
JP Morgan, the nation's largest bank, announced a $1.5 trillion investment program over ten years targeting industries critical to US national security and economic resilience, including supply chain and manufacturing, defense and aerospace, energy independence and intermediate technologies.
Under this plan, the bank will invest up to $10 billion through direct equity and venture capital investments, particularly in U.S. companies critical to national security and economic resilience.
A White House official confirmed that Trump will meet with financial leaders, but did not confirm the list of guests.
Trump has held a series of private meetings with business leaders in recent months as his administration seeks to promote economic growth while managing tensions with global trading partners.
His broader economic agenda focuses on expanding domestic manufacturing, relocating key industries, and leveraging private sector investment to secure the United States' position in high-tech manufacturing and energy supply chains.
