I don’t boil it, but grate it – I cook all the apples in 5 minutes: very gently, without sugar and fuss

When it gets cold outside, it’s nice to open a jar of homemade apples that smell like sun and summer. A five-minute preparation of grated apples helps preserve this taste with almost no sugar or cooking – simple, quick and with love.

Ingredients:

  • apples – 2 kg;
  • sugar – 300–400 g;
  • lemon juice – 2 tbsp. spoons.

Cooking method:

Wash the apples thoroughly, remove the core and cut into small pieces. Place them in a saucepan, add sugar and mix well. Leave the mixture for two hours to allow the fruit to release its juice. Place the pan over high heat, bring to a boil, then reduce the heat and simmer for just 5 minutes.
Place hot apples in pre-sterilized jars (about 4 jars of 750 ml each). Roll up the lids, turn upside down, wrap and leave until completely cool.

This method allows you to preserve the dense texture and fresh taste of apples, which is rarely achieved with conventional jam cooking. In addition, the sugar consumption here is much less than in classic recipes. The result is a natural fruit base, which in winter will be an excellent filling for desserts or an addition to porridges and pancakes.

Interesting fact: housewives note that it is the five-minute preparation that is closest to fresh fruit in taste without unnecessary sweetness and with a pleasant sourness.
