Burnley's Hannibal Mejbri (22) is under investigation by the Football Association for misconduct after allegedly spitting at a Leeds United fan during his side's 2-0 win in the Premier League on October 18.
Almost a month after the incident, the FA opened an investigation into the incident, which allegedly took place in the 67th minute of the match, 16 minutes before the midfielder was brought on. Lancashire police have also launched an investigation following a complaint from a supporter.

“It is alleged that the player acted in breach of the rules of the game and/or in an inappropriate manner and/or behaved in an abusive and/or indecent manner by spitting at or in the direction of Leeds United supporters around the 67th minute,” read the FA's official statement, as quoted by A Bola.
The former Manchester United player has until Friday, November 28, 2025, to provide a response, according to the FA's statement. In addition, the 22-year-old is also being investigated by Lancashire Police following a complaint lodged by a supporter.
Hannibal Mejbri arrived at Manchester United in the summer of 2019, after the “red devils” transferred 10 million euros to the accounts of Monaco.
The Tunisian midfielder has made just 8 Premier League appearances for Manchester United. Meanwhile, Hannibal also played on loan at Birmingham in the Championship and Sevilla in La Liga.
Hannibal arrived at Burnley in the summer of 2024 for €6.4m and made 37 appearances in the season that saw the team return to the Premier League, scoring one goal and providing four assists.
