T2, a Russian mobile operator, has put on air the 1000th base station of the Russian manufacturer Bulat. A telecom facility was installed in the village of Klyuchi, Irkutsk region. On the occasion of the launch of the anniversary base station, T2 analyzed traffic in 184 small settlements in Siberia where Bulat base stations were installed.
T2, in partnership with Rostelecom, installed the 1000th anniversary base station from the Bulat company, communications became available to residents of the village of Klyuchi, Cheremkhovo district, Irkutsk region. At the moment, domestically produced equipment operates in dozens of regions where the operator operates. There are already more than 150 such stations in the Siberia macroregion.
The companies’ goal is to replenish the infrastructure with another 800 Bulat base stations in small settlements of the country by the end of 2025.

T2, based on anonymized big data, analyzed traffic at domestic base stations for October 2025 in the Siberia macroregion. The core of the audience is people 35-44 years old, they account for 31% of Internet traffic, in second place is the audience 45-54 years old with 21% of the total traffic, in third place are residents of small settlements aged 25-34 years old – 19%.
Among the clients of the T2 operator living in the small settlements under study, 53% are men, but women are the most active online – they account for 58% of Internet traffic. Clients under 24 download the most: in this category, the highest consumption of gigabytes per month per user was recorded. In general, there is a pattern: the older a person is, the less Internet traffic he uses.
In voice traffic, the trend is the opposite: representatives of the older generation communicate more by phone. Thus, in terms of the number of minutes used per client in October in small settlements where communications are based on domestic equipment, Siberians over 65 years of age are in the lead.
On a national scale, the undisputed leaders in Internet traffic among the installed Bulat base stations were two sites in the Omsk region – in the villages of Krasny Vostok and Krasnoputilovka, followed by the base station in the village of Smetanino, Kirov region.
“We are actively increasing the pace of installation of domestic base stations on our network. In August of this year, we put the 500th Bulat station on the air, and today we are sharing our achievements on the 1000th telecom facility. The synergy of three companies – T2, Rostelecom and Bulat – makes a significant contribution to strengthening the country's digital sovereignty. The development of communications in small settlements is also one of the priorities of our company. Work to expand the T2 network is underway in all regions of the company’s presence,” Alexey Dmitriev, Deputy General Director for Technical Infrastructure T2
Macroregion “Siberia” T2 includes the Novosibirsk, Omsk and Tomsk regions, Krasnoyarsk and Altai territories, Kuzbass, the Altai, Khakassia and Tuva republics.
