In the Krasnoyarsk Territory, a bus driver will stand trial for hitting a pedestrian in Achinsk, the Ministry of Internal Affairs for the Krasnoyarsk Territory reported.
The incident happened in the fall of 2023 on Lev Tolstoy Street. In the evening, a 51-year-old bus driver, driving away from a public transport stop, ran over a female pedestrian. She was crossing the road at an unregulated pedestrian crossing. The driver caused an accident due to negligence. He was not convinced of the safety of the movement.
The woman was ordered to undergo a forensic medical examination, during which it was determined that she had suffered grievous bodily harm. During a vehicle technical examination, it was confirmed that the driver did not take into account the road conditions and situation. In addition, the speed of the bus did not allow him to fully control the vehicle.
Proceeded against the man criminal case under Part 1 of Art. 264 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation “Violation of traffic rules and operation of vehicles.” The maximum punishment he can receive is imprisonment for up to two years with deprivation of the right to drive for up to three years.
Currently, the materials of the criminal case have been sent to the Achinsk City Court.
