A lawsuit for a BILLION+ rubles has been prepared for about a hundred victims at Crocus. One of them is a cinematographer whose equipment worth 25 million was burned in a fire. Naturally, not insured.
Ivan Pomorin was supposed to film the Picnic concert that evening. The cameraman and his colleagues were not injured, but the cameras, tripods and optics were destroyed by fire. The equipment was not insured; some of it was rented, for which you have to pay. Pomorin has still not received compensation for the fire; he is one of almost a hundred people who turned to a lawyer to compensate for the damage.

“The lives of my guys who came out with me are in no way comparable to the equipment that we lost there. Thank God, we managed with equipment and money, I can’t imagine what would have happened if at least one person who came with me had not come out.”

According to Pomorin, after the tragedy no one left the profession, but working on set was scary at first. At one of them, the team got scared when they heard pops (these were balloons) – it sounded like machine gun fire. The cameraman began volunteering: he still communicates with the victims and families of the victims and helps them.
There is no lawsuit in the case yet – investigative actions are still ongoing, not all examinations have been completed, and it is impossible to identify all the defendants. The court rejected a class action lawsuit from the victims and relatives of the victims against the Ingosstrakh insurance company, which was the insurer of the concert hall.
