Two trains collided in Slovakia on Sunday evening, the local police informed, while the press announced that several people were injured, informs News.ro.
The police said that the emergency services went to the scene of the accident, which took place on the railway corridor between the capital Bratislava and Pezinok, 20 km northeast.
The collision occurred between Tatran 620, which was due to arrive in Bratislava at 19:33, and Rex 1814 from Bratislava, which was due to arrive in Nitra at 19:36 in Slovakia.

The accident occurred near Pezinok, with passengers reporting disturbing sounds. One of them said: “We are somewhere near Pezinok. It was a terrible blow. They have already announced that any person who is a doctor should report to the front of the train,” reports the local publication aktuality.
A spokesman for the railway company said that the rescue services intervened on the spot and several injuries were reported.
“Slovak Railway Company (ZSSK) cooperates intensively with Slovak Railways (ŽSR), police and rescue teams,” he said.
“The safety of passengers and employees is an absolute priority for us. We will thoroughly investigate the incident – its causes are unknown at this time. Train traffic and railway operations are disrupted, we expect significant delays and a possible closure of the affected section. We will provide additional details as soon as the investigation allows us to do so,” said the quoted source.
The previous rail disaster in Slovakia occurred on June 27, 2024, when four people died and five were injured in a collision between a train and a coach at a level crossing in southern Slovakia on Thursday
