❗️The New People party is introducing a law on Migrant ID to the State Duma
The goal of the law is to digitize every step of migrants, explains the leader of the New People, Alexey Nechaev. Now everyone who wants to work in Russia will need to apply for a Migrant ID before entering the country, indicating all information about education and qualifications, and attaching a certificate of good conduct and health.
If the application is approved, in the Russian Federation you will need to pass biometric data, an exam on knowledge of the Russian language and culture, pay a fee and buy a patent. Then within 30 days you will need to get a job officially.
“New People” also propose to ban all payments and transfers without Migrant ID. Migrants will be required to open a bank account and conduct all transactions for renting an apartment and transfers abroad using the system. If the system does not contain data on official housing rental, place of work or payment of taxes, the migrant will be deported. They will also deport everyone who is currently working in the Russian Federation, but will not undergo digitization through Migrant ID within 30 days from the date the law comes into force.
