Nearly 20 defendants who attended the violent protest in front of the bulb, sent to court

Nearly 20 defendants who participated in the violent protest in front of the Central Electoral Bureau (BEC), from the night of March 9-10, were sent to court on Friday, August 1.

The 19 defendants are investigated for committing offenses of outrage, destruction and disturbance of public order and peace, the Public Ministry reports in a statement.
“The evidence established that a number of 19 defendants resorted to such documents, as follows:
– 10 defendants committed offenses of outrage towards the gendarmes, of which 3 also committed the crime of destroying a vehicle belonging to a television station;
– 5 defendants committed offenses of disturbing public order and peace, by designing metal panels and hard objects in the gendarmes device;
– 4 defendants committed the crime of destroying a vehicle belonging to a television station ”states the cited institution.
Following the violent protest, ten gendarmes were injured.
“Through all the actions of the defendants, the public order and tranquility were disturbed in the area of the historical center of Bucharest. An defendant was sent to court in house arrest, and 18 defendants in judicial control.
The investigations were carried out by the Prosecutor's Office attached”, Concludes the Public Ministry.
We recall that Călin Georgescu's supporters protested on Sunday evening, March 9, against the decision of the Central Electoral Bureau to reject the candidacy. Being dissatisfied, they resorted to acts of violence, throwing with blunt objects and setting street furniture in the area.
According to the Bucharest Gendarmerie, the protesters broke pieces of caldera to throw them over the law enforcement, and a gendarmerie was injured during the confrontations. Also, another gendarmerie was hit in the protective helmet with a blunt object, but did not suffer serious injuries. The protesters also used pyrotechnic materials, and some of them overturned the Digi24 car.
