In the Krasnoyarsk Territory, the investigation into the murder of a resident of Nazarovo, committed 18 years ago, has been completed, reports the investigative department of the Investigative Committee. committee in the Krasnoyarsk Territory and Khakassia.

A 48-year-old resident of Kursk was involved in the crime. In October 2007, the accused and a pensioner came to his mother-in-law’s dacha, where a conflict arose between him and the victim over the sale of an apartment. The man strangled the woman with a rope and buried her body in her summer cottage, and told the police that she had left for another city.

A criminal case was opened into the murder. The preliminary investigation was suspended because it was not possible to establish the whereabouts of the missing person. In 2025, law enforcement officers established previously unknown circumstances of the incident, which made it possible to work out new versions.

“The key detail was the establishment of the fact that the apartment that belonged to the pensioner was sold shortly before her disappearance. An interrogation of the neighbors of the missing woman helped to find out that the sale of real estate was carried out by a married couple – her distant relatives. Thanks to the investigator’s well-chosen tactics of interrogating the spouses, the 48-year-old resident of Kursk admitted to his crime. He gave detailed testimony about the circumstances of the murder and indicated the place where the pensioner’s body was hidden,” — reported in the regional IC.

The accused is currently in custody. The criminal case has been sent to the prosecutor's office for approval of the indictment and subsequent referral to court for consideration on the merits.
