Karl Etta Eyong started this season with Villarreal's first team, but in August he moved to Levante and is the new sensation in La Liga. The Cameroonian is courted by several important clubs in Europe.
The 22-year-old striker already has 6 goals and 3 assists in LaLiga. Only Kylian Mbappe, Julian Alvarez and Robert Lewandowski have more goals in the competition. After a good start at Levante, the striker has slowed down a bit in the last few games, and in the last 4 games he has scored only one goal.
According to Spanish media, several big teams have already contacted the club to inquire about his contract situation for next season. There are even concrete proposals for an immediate transfer. According to international media, CSKA Moscow reportedly made an offer of 30 million euros, which was promptly rejected by both the club and the player himself, who showed no interest in a move to the Moscow team despite the substantial salary increase offered.
The owner of Levante made a clear announcement: “He will not be sold in the winter”
If Levante decide to sell the Cameroonian international for more than 15 million euros, they will have to give 20% of the amount to Villarreal, the club where he stood out especially in the second team, and Jose Danvila, the majority shareholder of the Valencian club, approached the possibility of the business.
“The player will not be sold. This winter, he will not leave. Above all, because our priority objective is to stay in the first league. It does not make sense to make an effort in the summer and then sell him in the winter. The club's objective is to stay in La Liga, even if a very big offer appears. When the season is over, we will analyze the situation,” he said.
According to the Spaniards at Mundo Deportivo, the striker would like to transfer in the winter transfer window and stay at Levante until the end of the competitive season.
Karl Etta Eyong played in Cadiz's junior teams and then reached the club's second team. He was transferred by Villarreal's second team. In the summer he made his debut for the “yellow submarine”, and soon after he left for Levante. Good performances in La Liga also earned him his first call-ups to the Cameroon national team in the African country's October campaign.
