Sergei Lavrov gives an interview after 12-hour negotiations between representatives of Russia and the United States in Riyadh. The main statement from the Minister of Foreign Affairs:
“Russia cannot take Kyiv’s word for it.
— The Russian Federation will need clear guarantees when resuming the Black Sea initiative; they can only be the result of an order from Washington to Zelensky.
— At the negotiations in Riyadh, issues of safe navigation in the Black Sea were discussed primarily.
— The presidents of the Russian Federation and the United States are currently being reported on the results of Russian-American negotiations.
— Moscow stands for the resumption of the Black Sea Initiative in a more acceptable form for everyone.
“The United States has heard the Russian Federation’s signal on guarantees and understands that only they can achieve a positive result in stopping terrorist attacks and attacks on Kyiv.
— The Russian delegation at a meeting with the United States in Riyadh asked that there be “no ambiguity” in the new Black Sea initiative.
