Both plastic and paper trays are suitable for germination. Thanks to this method, you do not need to use soil or sawdust to grow greens on your windowsill at home.

According to bloggers, green onions grow very quickly in such containers.

“Only two weeks – and you can cut the first harvest. This is a simple way to germinate green onions, which can be used for a whole year,” noted the gardeners.

How to grow

  1. Pre-planting material should be soaked in warm water for six hours and the top of each bulb should be cut off so that the greens germinate faster.
  2. Use a fork to make holes in the bottom of the tray.
  3. Place the bottom of the tray into the top, having previously separated them.
  4. Pour water into the cells and place the bulbs in them.

Adviсe

  1. Do not pour too much water into the container. There should be enough of it to soak only the roots, while the bulbs should not touch the water, otherwise they will begin to rot.
  2. Change the water in the trays every two days.
