Lavrov is back. In a new interview, he recalled the alleged arrangements between Putin and Trump

“It is important to discuss the Ukrainian issue and promote the bilateral agenda,” Lavrov said in an interview with the Ria Novosti news agency published on Sunday. “That's why we communicate by phone and are ready to meet face to face when necessary,” he added.
The interview came after the Kremlin on Friday rejected media reports that Lavrov, a longtime ally of Russian President Vladimir Putin, had fallen out of his favor due to a lack of results in talks with Washington.
In an interview with the agency, Lavrov said that the talks between Putin and US President Donald Trump, which took place in Alaska in the summer, should remain the basis for a potential agreement ending aggression against Ukraine.
“At that time, the Americans assured us that they would be able to guarantee that [prezydent Ukrainy] Volodymyr Zelensky will not obstruct the peace process. Apparently, some difficulties have arisen in this regard,” Lavrov said.

How did Lavrov evaluate the actions of European leaders?
During the interview Lavrov has repeatedly attacked European leadersarguing that “Brussels and London are trying to convince Washington to abandon its intention to solve the crisis through political and diplomatic means and to fully engage in actions aimed at putting military pressure on Russia.”
Despite efforts by the Trump administration and others to encourage negotiations, Russia continues its full-scale invasion of Ukraine.
Lavrov has not appeared in public since October 28, when Washington canceled a planned meeting with Putin in Budapest because he showed no willingness to make concessions, as first reported by the Financial Times.
