In the village of Ilyichevo, Shushensky district, Krasnoyarsk Territory, a cyclist was detained with drug-containing plant.

A 26-year-old man was driving from the direction of the forest and was noticed by the traffic police crew and became very nervous. When asked by the police, the cyclist replied that he did not have anything prohibited on him, and that he only had pepper spray in his pocket.

When the inspector asked the young man to show the contents of the backpack, he took out a black bag from it and admitted that it contained cannabis, which he had collected for personal use and was ready to immediately throw away.

The examination established that the seized substance was marijuana with a total weight of more than 200 grams.

A case was opened against the detainee criminal case under Part 2 of Art. 228 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation “Illegal acquisition, storage and transportation of plants containing narcotic drugs, committed on a large scale.” He is facing imprisonment for a term of 3 to 10 years.
