He is now in the hospital under the close supervision of doctors. The condition is stable. 96-year-old Vladimir Nikolaevich is known as the best interpreter of Russian church music and the former director of the Moscow State Academic Chamber Choir.
He made Russian church music available to listeners all over the world and revived it as an integral part of world musical culture.
