Leo Grozavu (58 years old), the technician of the FC Botoșani leader, concluded in a flash-interview what happened on Friday evening, during the trip from Ovidiu, with Farul, match lost by the Moldovans with a score of 0-2.
Botoșani missed the chance to open the scoring in the 21st second, Vînă scored quickly, in the 5th minute, and from the 37th minute the visitors were down to 10 men, after the red foul seen by Friday, from the position of the last defender.
After the match, Leo Grozavu found it hard to find the words, being disappointed that his students treated this match much too superficially, thinking about the vacation and the competitive break that is coming now, to make way for the national team. The technician was particularly disappointed by the removal of the player from his team, knowing that from that moment FC Botoșani had no chance.
Leo Grozavu's conclusions, after the lost match at Farul
“There's not much to say, it's game over at that red card. We had a chance to make it 1-0, then we got a goal from a fantastic execution, a shot that caught some time. I want to congratulate Farul, we didn't have the best day, we weren't inspired, we didn't score, we didn't succeed, the goals conceded…
Angry, what can I say, this is football, together we lose, together we win. Everyone looked at this trip as a vacation.
And today we showed how much we played 11 against 11 as a team to be reckoned with. Let's see how we handle the situation from now on. We didn't lose because of the opponent, but because of us. I made a lot of mistakes.
Well done to those from Farul, for being able to take advantage of them. When the break comes, everyone thinks about the holiday, it's everyone's fault, maybe it's also my fault that I didn't convince them that we had to play the game and then think about the two weeks.
Ilas was a player who showed at a young age that he has an above-average maturity, but I don't say that the defeat is because of his lack. It would be shameful for us to sit in a junior, in an 18-year-old player.
Today I had a bad day, I wasn't allowed… You can get a goal, but this elimination is way too much… it's beyond my understanding. I tell them the same thing: you are the last defender, even if the opponent scores, not the foul, that's how you are suspended for the next stage.
I tried to change at half-time, I didn't have a right back. There were many things, but at 0-2 and a man down we tried to raise the proportions and, depending on the opportunity, score. Who knows what would have happened… Maybe if Bordeianu had scored at the end, who knows what crisis Farul would have entered at 2-1 with a few minutes left. But what can I say… if and as if, that's it,” Leo Grozavu said after the match, in a flash interview, at Digi Sport.
