Former Russian national team footballer and head coach of FC Leningradets Vadim Evseev was attacked by unknown assailants with a pepper spray in Astrakhan
His assistant Alexander Shmarko had his cheek cut and had to be stitched up. Evseev himself got away with washing his eyes.
According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, both attackers have now been detained – they are football fans. One of them, 20-year-old Farahudin, was previously brought to administrative responsibility for drug use.
The preliminary reason for the conflict was that they “asked for a light,” but they were refused.
