

“Defense forces hit the Volgograd Refinery, located in the Volgograd region of the Russian Federation. The annual volume of petroleum products processed at this plant is 15.7 million tons (5.6% of all refining in the Russian Federation). Explosions and a fire were recorded in the target area. In order to reduce the enemy’s logistics capabilities, three fuel and lubricants facilities were hit in the territory of the temporarily occupied Autonomous Republic of Crimea [горюче-смазочных материалов]”, the message says.
The General Staff clarified that we are talking about an oil depot in the village of Gvardeyskoye, where a successful hit of tanks with fuel and lubricants on a loading and loading rack was recorded, and two fuel and lubricant bases in Simferopol (tank farms there were hit). According to the Ukrainian military, fuel tanks caught fire at these facilities.
The General Staff also informed about the defeat of the Shahed storage, acquisition and launch base in temporarily occupied Donetsk.
Context
Since the beginning of 2024, Ukraine has intensified attacks on oil infrastructure in Russia. The head of Ukrainian state Vladimir Zelensky noted that Ukraine is forced to answerdelivering strikes in response to Russian air attacks on Ukrainian energy facilities.
