An 11-year-old schoolboy fell into a pit of boiling water left by utility workers in Chelyabinsk
A hole with boiling water in it appeared in the courtyard of a house due to an accident on a heating main. While playing outside, two boys came up to see what was down there.
One of them failed. Media reports that the pit was not fenced off in any way.
The boy is now in intensive care. According to the Ministry of Health, the victim suffered 40% burns. The Investigative Committee opened a criminal case.
