Andrzej Klesyk leaves Bank Pekao. The surprising resignation of the chairman


“Bank Polska Kasa Dobrze Spółka Akcyjna informs that on November 3, 2025, the resignations were submitted with effect as at the end of November 5, 2025 by: Mr. Andrzej Klesyk from the position of Chairman of the Supervisory Board of the Bank and from membership in the Supervisory Board of the Bank, and Mr. Radosław Niedzielski from membership in the Supervisory Board of the Bank,” the announcement said.

The statement reads that neither Klesyk nor Niedzielski gave reasons for their resignation. According to Bank Pekao's website, so far the Supervisory Board consisted of 9 people.
At the beginning of August, Klesyk was dismissed from the position of president of PZU, which holds 20 percent. shares in Bank Pekao. The Ministry of State Assets justified the dismissal with the need to adapt the company's management policy to ownership goals and the need for more effective implementation of the development strategy. It also assured that the change “does not affect projects implemented by the company.”
At the end of September, the PZU supervisory board appointed Bogdan Benczak, who had been managing director for corporate affairs in the PZU Group since February 2025, to replace Klesyk.
