Tony Da Silva, the coach from Poli Iasi, had an unexpected reaction at the end of the match with FC Bihor, score 2-1.
Politehnica Iași won the first match of the 12th stage of the II Football League, 2-1 on Friday evening against FC Bihor.
Tony, with tears in his eyes
After the match, home coach Anthony “Tony” Da Silva was brought to tears when he spoke of his child and asked the fans to stop swearing at the Copou stadium: “Now I wish I had my family next to me, to hug my child, because everyone is swearing at me and the players. I sacrifice a lot to stay here. It doesn't seem fair to me. We want to win by swearing? If we want to be a club great, we must all be united, with a blue-white soul”.
The Portuguese praised the effort capacity of his players: “You don't know what we are going through, we are going through very difficult moments. The team was very good physically. Opriș did 13 or 14 kilometers, as did Ghindovean. I am very satisfied with my players. I dedicate the victory to the players, the staff and the people from the club. Before the match with Dinamo I said that I feel we are making five victories in a row. I want the attitude to be the same as in the last two matches”.
Tony hopes that the victory with Bihor will bring an increase in the level of his team: “I felt my team very nervous in some minutes, with anxiety. I didn't like the first half, but the second half I was over them. Before the match I told the boys that it was going to be a magical evening. The boys showed their character once again, they believed until the end. As a coach, I am very proud. I am waiting for a release after this victory.”
