Actor Cristo Fernandez (35 years old), known worldwide for his role as Dani Rojas in the Ted Lasso series, is trying out for El Paso Locomotive, a club in the United Soccer League.
A source at North American second division club El Paso Locomotive revealed to Goal that Fernandez played 30 minutes in a friendly against New Mexico United last Saturday, February 28.
The game was part of a trial period the actor is undergoing at the USL Championship club, having started training with the team the previous Thursday.

The decision on a possible contract has not yet been made, but the verdict is expected later this week.
Although today he is recognized for his televised charisma, where he immortalized the enthusiastic «Football is life!» (Football is life), Fernandez has a genuine background in football.

As a teenager, he was part of the academy of Tecos FC in Mexico, but his career was cut short by serious knee injuries.
Now, more than a decade away, comes the unlikely opportunity to return to competitive football, albeit in a different context to the one he had imagined in his youth.
