The Prosecutor General's Office informed in December last year that the case concerned two contracts for detective services that Orlen was to conclude with a company indicated by Daniel Obajtek. Previously, the same company was to provide other security services to the then president. The detectives were hired by Orlen in the years 2019-2024.
These agreements – according to the prosecutor's office – were intended to serve the private interest of the person recommending Daniel Obajtek and had no economic significance and did not concern the physical and economic security of the company.
Daniel Obajtek already denied it: “We were protecting the company's interests and all actions were related to protecting its interests.” “Under no circumstances was there any order to surveil any politician,” emphasized President Obajtek.
