Only two sets of treatment tickets through the retirement homes until the end of the year. What chances do those who want to buy have

The county retirement homes have two more series of treatment tickets to distribute before the end of the year. Tickets from the 17th series have already been allocated, but there is a chance to catch one more free from the remaining unclaimed ones.

The Olt County Pension House announced that it had to distribute 129 tickets related to the 17th series, the penultimate of this year, to the beneficiaries, insured in the public pension system who need treatment and who have submitted applications to CPJ Olt. According to the options in the applications submitted, 102 were allocated automatically, with the date of presentation at the resort between November 18-22, 2025. Most of the tickets distributed are in the Olănești resort, which remains in the top of the Oltans' preferences. Another 16 were allocated to Bala, 14 tickets to the Căciulata resort, eight to the Govora resort, six to Călimănești, four to Covasna, two to Băile Felix and one ticket each to Geoagiu and Herculane, respectively. The unallocated tickets are in the resorts: Amara, Bala, Buziaș and Pucioasa.
The allocated tickets – the list of approved requests is available both at the CJP Olt headquarters and on the institution's website – can be purchased until November 10 inclusive.
For those insured in the public social insurance system who want to go to treatment with a ticket from the Pension House but have not yet submitted an application, there is a chance to see if there are unused tickets (applicants to whom they have been allocated based on the applications are not expected to purchase them). They will go on sale on November 12.
From the experience of the past series, even people who did not rush to apply (in person or by e-mail) have a fairly high chance of finding available tickets, after the ticket sales period allocated based on requests, the territorial houses notify each other about the remaining tickets and even operate transfers based on the statistics of the most requested resorts, so if there are tickets left in the resorts for which there is no great interest in a county, they can be used for solving requests coming from another county.
Interest in treatment tickets is starting to wane among retirees
The number of treatment tickets sold this year could be lower than in previous years, and there are at least two explanations: on the one hand, fewer tickets allocated, on the other, the higher cost in 2025 for pensioners, as a result of the increase in the amount of pensions during the past year.
Pensioners pay their own contribution for the treatment ticket at the level of 50% of the amount of the pension (or pensions, if they register income from several types of pension, or pension + salary if they register income from both sources), while employees pay 50% of the full cost of the ticket if the gross salary is lower than the average gross salary used to substantiate the state social insurance budget, or the full cost of the ticket if the salary is above the level average gross wage earnings. And as the amount of pensions has increased, there are situations where the contribution is close to the full cost of the ticket (which is approximately 3,000 lei in 2025), so pensioners prefer to purchase tickets directly from spa service providers, without the intermediation of the pension house.
However, other categories can also benefit from treatment tickets through the pension house, even if the two, pensioners and employees (to a lesser extent) are the ones that use this right the most. All data regarding the award criteria are available on the website of the National Public Pension House.
