Prime Minister Donald Tusk and chairwoman of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen came to the Polish-Belarusian border on Sunday.
– The last days and weeks of the war in Ukraine very clearly show that no concessions, no subtle game with Russian leader Vladimir Putin and aggressive Russia leads to success, it guarantees us safety – said the prime minister during a statement for the media.
Donald Tusk admitted that when, together with the chairwoman of the EC headed to the conference, they received information and recommendation from protection to give up or change the place, because “Belarusian soldiers with a long weapon appeared.”
– And I ask the chairwoman what she does. Is she ready to participate in this conference, however. And I heard the words I wanted to hear, and for us here in Poland, obvious: no concessions, no one here will scare us or worry – said the prime minister. – We are also here to show this real European determination – he added.
– Thank you also for this gesture, he is not so common. And we survived – said the head of government.

Donald Tusk: Poland will invest PLN 200 billion next year in defense
The head of government pointed out that Poland is counting on “very serious” participation in the division of funds from European security programs, including Safe program.
– We apply for tens of billions of euros and we talk about it without complexes. We do not ask anyone for anything, because nobody does the grace to anyone in this matter – noted Tusk.
– Poland will invest PLN 200 billion next year in defense, in the defense industry and in the Polish army. So we take our duties seriously and expect from all institutions and countries in Europe equally serious treatment of the issue of the security of the eastern border and a hard position on the aggressor and Russia – he said.
