The head of the region noted that the future leader will manage not only the regional capital, but also the entire urban district, the area of ​​which has tripled since the beginning of 2025 due to municipal reform.

Last week, changes came into force in the law of the Krasnoyarsk Territory and started 30 day period for nominating candidates.

Candidates can be nominated by political parties, the All-Russian Association for the Development of Local Self-Government, the Public Chamber, and the Council of Military Veterans of the Northern Military District. In extreme cases, the government of the Krasnoyarsk Territory may become the initiator.

“Next will be the process of studying documents, studying, in fact, the people themselves, the candidates and transferring two from the general list to the City Council.
