An aggressive Krasnoyarsk resident will be sent to a mental hospital only after attacking a neighbor with an ax (video)

A resident of the Krasnoyarsk microdistrict Solnechny will be tried for causing moderate harm to a neighbor’s health, committed out of hooligan motives using an object used as a weapon.

As the prosecutor's office said, the incident occurred one July evening in a courtyard on Svetlova Street. Hearing a crash from the street and the alarm going off, the victim left the house to move his car. At that moment, a man called out to him and almost immediately attacked him with an ax, hitting him on the head.

The incident was caught on a street camera.

“The reason for such sudden aggression remained a mystery to the victim. Thanks to the prompt arrival of the police and ambulance, the tragedy was stopped, the prosecutor’s office says. — The subsequent investigation shed light on the motives of the incident: according to the conclusion of a forensic psychiatric examination, the 45-year-old attacker had suffered from a serious mental disorder for a long time. At the time of the incident, he could not account for his actions and control them, being insane.”

It also turned out that the man lives with his mother, who said that back in 2000 she began to notice strange things about him, and recently he has become aggressive.

A criminal case was opened against the attacker under paragraphs. “d”, “h” part 2 art. 112 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation. “Since his guilt in committing a socially dangerous act has been established, but he was declared insane, he will be prescribed compulsory treatment in a psychiatric hospital. The criminal case was sent to the Sovetsky District Court for consideration on the merits,” the prosecutor’s office explained.
