Nadir was brought on in the 76th minute, but just 12 minutes later he suddenly collapsed in the middle of the pitch, untouched. The midfielder remained motionless, and the atmosphere on the “Velodrome” instantly turned into one of horror.
The players of both teams immediately jumped to help the Moroccan, and the medical team intervened quickly. After a few moments of panic, Nadir was stabilized and taken off the field on a stretcher to the applause of the “Velodrome” crowd.
For now, the causes of the accident suffered by Bilal Nadir are not known. Immediately after the game, his teammates sent him messages of support and posted photos of him on social media.

In the post-match press conference, Marseille coach Roberto De Zerbi gave the first information on the midfielder's condition, who was taken to hospital for further tests and investigations.
“He regained consciousness and was taken to hospital for tests and checks. We're all worried, but hopefully it's nothing serious.”
Midfielder Matt O'Riley confirmed in turn that the Moroccan “is OK”.
