As indicated by the media, a new destruction – a Ka-52 helicopter along with its crew – occurred on October 27 during an attack by Ukrainian drones on Russian territory.
The Russians confused the Ka-52 with a UAV, after which the fighter opened fire on it.
According to The Insider, this is at least the 17th known loss of Russian aircraft from “friendly fire” during the war and the second in 2025.
In total, due to friendly fire, the invaders lost 12 aircraft (four Su-35, three Su-34, two A-50 and one each of Su-27, Su-30 and Il-22) and five helicopters (two Ka-52 and one each of Ka-29, Mi-24 and Mi-8), the media reported.
