Emergency power cuts have been imposed in “most regions of Ukraine” due to another massive overnight Russian missile and drone attack targeting energy infrastructure, operator Ukrenergo announced Thursday morning, according to the Kyiv Independent.
“If you currently have electricity, please use it sparingly,” Ukrenergo said.
Air raid alerts were issued across the country overnight, with the Ukrainian air force tracking Shahed drones, cruise and ballistic missiles, as well as Kinjal hypersonic missiles.
Consumption restrictions throughout Ukraine
At the time of publication, air raid alerts were still in effect in six regions of western Ukraine, with reports that Shahed drones were still in the airspace. Also, air alerts were still in the northern regions of Chernihiv and Sumî.
Ukraine has restricted electricity supply to all regions after Russia launched a massive missile and drone attack on energy infrastructure, the energy minister said Thursday morning.
“During the night, the energy system of Ukraine suffered another massive attack combined with missiles and drones. The attack caused further damage to the energy infrastructure,” wrote Svitlana Hrynchuk on Telegram.
Russia regularly targets Ukrainian cities and critical infrastructure in drone and missile attacks.
