The two teams offered a modest first half, with few clear scoring opportunities. The Italian champions had possession but struggled to create danger, especially in the absence of key players like Kevin De Bruyne and Scott McTominay.

However, the biggest chance of the first half belonged to them in the 30th minute when main man Matteo Politano sent a powerful shot just over the crossbar.

The hosts responded only in extra time, with a shot by the young Francesco Camarda (17 years old), surely rejected by Vanja Milinkovic-Savic.

In the 52nd minute, Juan Jesus touched the ball with his hand in his own box, and after the VAR analysis, referee Giuseppe Collu awarded a penalty. Francesco Camarda took the shot from 11 yards, but Vanja Milinkovic-Savic guessed the corner and made an excellent save.

Antonio Conte reacted immediately, sending on McTominay and Rasmus Hojlund, and Napoli began to push the game further. In the 69th minute, a perfectly executed free kick by David Neres was headed into the net by Andre-Frank Zambo Anguissa.

Eusebio Di Francesco's team tried to come back, but without clear chances, although they dominated the end of the match territorially. The Neapolitans closed the spaces well and achieved the victory.
