The phased return of tenants to their own apartments in the Rahova block can be done from Wednesday, the Bucharest Municipality Committee for Emergency Situations decided, after the completion of on-site criminal investigations and technical checks carried out by construction experts, announced the prefect of the capital, Andrei Nistor, according to Agerpres.

The Prefect of the Capital conveyed that access will be controlled, under the coordination of the Capital Police, according to the following schedule:

  • Wednesday, between 09:00 and 10:30 – Block 30A, Calea Rahovei no. 317,
  • time interval 10:30 – 12:00 – Block 30, Stair 1, Calea Rahovei no. 319,
  • between 12:00 and 13:30 – Block 30, Stair 2, Calea Rahovei no. 319,
  • in the time interval 13:30 – 15:00 – Block 32, Stair 1, Strada Vicina no. 1.

According to prefect Andrei Nistor, access to Stair 2 of block 32, the one affected by the explosion, remains, for now, prohibited, until the technical checks are fully completed.

“All the institutions involved will continue to be with those affected until the full return to normality,” added the quoted source.

A crack in a gas pipeline outside the block in Sector 5 of the Capital, where the explosion that resulted in three deaths took place, is the main hypothesis taken into account by the investigators.
