On Monday, Minister of Health Jolanta Sobierańska-Grenda and Deputy Minister of Health Katarzyna Kęcka participated in a meeting of the presidium of the Tripartite Team for Health Protection. The Ministry of Health informed on October that Deputy Minister Kęcka presented proposals for changes to the increase act regulating minimum wages in medical entities. The Ministry of Health noted that the proposals also concerned determining the maximum remuneration for the provision of work under civil law contracts.

An unofficial source in the tripartite team told PAP that the maximum remuneration for people employed in the so-called contracts according to the presented proposal refers to the hourly rate as a fraction of the minimum wage: 1/20 of the minimum gross remuneration with the obligation to work at least 1/2 full-time. According to this PAP source, the maximum salary could be around PLN 40,000. PLN per full-time position.

Meanwhile, the chairman of the National Trade Union of Physiotherapy Workers, Tomasz Dybek, told PAP that the Ministry of Health presented six demands, previously submitted by the social side and employers. – This is a survey of these proposals by the Ministry of Health. We are starting to talk, he emphasized.

Dybek said that one of the demands concerns the upper limit of remuneration for people providing services under civil law contracts, the so-called contracts. He said that at the meeting it was calculated that, according to this proposal, one person would be able to earn a total of PLN 38,000 to PLN 48,000 per month. zloty.

He emphasized that another of the demands regarding the so-called Contractors assume that remuneration cannot be determined as a percentage of the procedure performed. – This was the demand of the social side, because the Minimum Wage Act generated exorbitant amounts of money at the expense of ordinary doctors – he noted.

According to Dybek, there was also discussion about raising the rate for groups 5 and 6 in the Minimum Wage Act from January 1, 2027.

The meeting of the Tripartite Team for Health Protection is scheduled for November 18.

According to AOTMiT data, the median value of a specialist doctor's contract is PLN 24.6 thousand. PLN (data related to September 2024). However, a doctor may have several contracts signed with different hospitals. 1 percent the highest contracts range from PLN 100,000 to PLN 300,000. zloty. AOTMiT recorded 431 such contracts in September 2024.

The Ministry of Health wants to change the regulations regarding the minimum wage in health care. According to the Minister of Health, the act has fulfilled its role in the system, as there are more people working in medical professions. There are demands to freeze the act for two years and to postpone the indexation of minimum wages from July to January, which the Ministry of Health, led by Sobierańska-Grenda, wants to discuss with employees and employers. The Minister of Health believes that the maximum remuneration of medics paid from public money should be determined.
