Kelemen Hunor admits that there are disputes in the coalition: “Nicu and Marcel had another relationship”

The president of the UDMR, Kelemen Hunor, said on Monday that there were disputes in the governing coalition from the beginning and he believes that the tensions will continue even after the PSD Congress takes place.

“There are these disputes, it is the dynamics of the coalition from the very beginning and almost the dynamics of all coalitions in the last 35 years (…) PSD is preparing for elections, although there is no stake, Sorin Grindeanu does not have a competitor”Kelemen Hunor declared, on Monday evening, at Digi 24.

The UDMR leader believes that there is another explanation for the reactions in the public space recently: “I have another explanation, of course, neither the PSD nor the PNL will like it, but that's life, I don't do politics to please them. They got used when they governed in twos that what the PSD says, the PNL accepts. Nicu and Marcel had a different relationship (…. ) it's probably hard to get used to the fact that there is another prime minister from the PNL, who is less flexible and you have to get used to it.”

Kelemen Hunor argued that “no discipline” in the coalition and some projects are difficult to pass in the Parliament.

“Without discipline, you have a 60% majority for nothing, without discipline it is difficult to move forward. For two and a half months, on two projects, the coalition has been arguing and we have not advanced”Kelemen Hunor also transmitted.

He also stated that, in a coalition “where there are five at the table” – PSD, PNL, USR, UDMR and the minorities – “you can't expect everyone to agree with every statement”.

“But I think we are mature people and we will get over these, or over these tensions in the coalition after November 7”Kelemen Hunor also declared.

PSD elects its new leadership on November 7, many of Sorin Grindeanu's recent statements being attributed to the internal election campaign.
