Gaziantep, the formation of Romanians Alexandru Maxim (35 years old) and Deian Sorescu (28 years old), suffered a drastic failure, 0-4 at home against Fenerbahce, in the 10th stage of the Turkish championship.
If Maximalthe team captain, was an integralist, Sorescu was introduced after the break, in place of Luis Perez (30 years old).

The game started as it couldn't have been worse for Gaziantep. Fener opened the scoring in the 4th minute through En Nesyri, who managed to “double” 16 minutes later, from the pass of Marco Asensio, the former star of Real Madrid and PSG.

5 minutes before the end, Gaziantep remained numerically inferior after the elimination of Abena, and the same Talisca set the final score, 4-0 for Fenerbahce.
Following this result, Gaziantep remains in 6th place in the championship, with 17 points. On the other hand, Fenerbahce is 3, with 22, 6 behind the leader Galatasaray.
At the last action of the national team, the matches against Moldova and Austria, Sorescu was no longer summoned by Mircea Lucescu, as he had faced certain medical problems.
The former footballer from FCSB and Dinamo was included by “Il Luce” on the preliminary list of foreigners for the matches with Bosnia and San Marino, the last of the 2026 World Cup qualifiers.
Instead, Maxim's last performance in Romania's shirt was in 2022, in a failure with Montenegro, score 0-3.
Sorescu is quoted by the specialized website Transfermarkt at 2 million euros, while Maxim is worth 500,000 euros.
