According to the publication, there is a shortage of public bomb shelters in Germany – there are 579 of them, they can accommodate less than 500 thousand people out of 83 million in the country.
One of the reasons for this is the policy of the last 17 years, when protective shelters were eliminated in the country, because “no one thought that there would be a need for them again.”
