Details of the Russian night attack on Kyiv. Among the dead are a 19-year-old woman and her mother.


More than 100 rescuers are working on the ground, eliminating the consequences of hits in a nine-story building and a sixteen-story building, dismantling emergency structures, and checking the stability of structures, the report says. At two locations, rubble from the previous attack is still being cleared, the minister said.

“Russia is hitting residential areas so that as many civilians as possible will suffer. The enemy’s tactics are terror, the goal is the pain and suffering of people. From the first minutes after the attacks, rescuers and police were next to the people of Kiev. We saved more than a dozen people from a fire trap and evacuated the residents. […] Psychologists from the State Emergency Service and the police are working with victims at the scene of the tragedy. Almost 150 people have already received psychological help – the support that helps them survive after a difficult night. Police and rescue headquarters have been set up, where they accept applications and provide the necessary advice,” he said.



At approximately 2.00 on October 26, the Russian Federation attacked Kyiv using attack UAVs, noted the press service of the Kyiv City Prosecutor's Office.

“Another 29 people were injured, including seven minors. Three of them were hospitalized. In particular, a 15-year-old boy had numerous burns, a 9-year-old girl had cut wounds, a 13-year-old girl received multiple shrapnel wounds. Four children had an acute reaction to stress. As a result of the Russian attack, two multi-storey residential buildings in Desnyansky district, in one of them the fire engulfed apartments from the first to the seventh floors. In the Obolon district, windows in a house were broken by a blast wave. In the private sector in the Darnytskyi district, the fence of a house and a car were damaged,” the message says.

The rescue operation in the Desnyansky district is currently ongoing. The final number of victims is being established, the press service noted. A pre-trial investigation has been launched into the fact that the Russian military committed a war crime that resulted in the death of people (Part 2 of Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).


The mayor of Kyiv, Vitaliy Klitschko, said that the youngest victim was four years old. According to him, there are seven victims in city hospitals, including two children. Others receive treatment on an outpatient basis.



Context

According to the Air Force of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, on the night of October 26, the Russian Federation attacked Ukraine with 101 attack UAVs. According to preliminary data, as of 9.00, the air defense had shot down/neutralized 90 enemy UAVs in the north, south and east of the country. Five strike UAVs were recorded at four locations, as well as downed UAVs falling (debris) at five locations.
