

“There was a shelter on the territory of the colony. During the air aircraft, the convicts had the opportunity to go down in shelter. The tragedy occurred due to the fact that after the first blow the shelter was blocked and there was no opportunity to go down,” Fedorov said.
Answering the question why the convicts were not evacuated earlier, the head of the Ova said that this was discussed several times at a meeting of the Defense Council.
“It was one and a half to two years ago. All the corresponding materials were prepared, the services coordinated and analyzed the risks that are or may arise,” he added.
Context
On the night of July 29, the army of the Russian Federation fired at the detention of convicts in the Zaporizhzhya region. According to Fedorov, the buildings of the penitentiary institution and the house nearby were destroyed. The invaders dropped an aircraft bombs on a civilian object, 17 people were killed, more than 40 were injured, the Ministry of Justice of Ukraine informed.
