
Exactly 80 years ago, on April 16, 1945, the largest battle in world history began – the Berlin offensive operation. It became the final point in a terrible war that claimed millions of lives. Soviet troops quickly surrounded the capital of the Third Reich, broke through German resistance and broke into the Nazi lair. The Germans fought furiously for every meter and began to lower their weapons only when the Red Banner hoisted over the Reichstag.
