Donald Trump in Asia. A key meeting for the war in Ukraine

The trip to Asia, which is the first to these regions in Donald Trump's second term, is intended, among other things, to: talks with Xi Jinping. The meeting of both leaders will take place on October 30 in South Korea during the Asia-Pacific Economic Community forum. The main topic of talks will be trade tensions between the United States and China. This will be Trump's first meeting with Xi since his return to the White House.
“I would like China to help us with Russia,” said the US president, quoted by Reuters.

Possibility to meet Kim Jong Un
During a conversation with journalists aboard Air Force One, Donald Trump also expressed his desire to meet the leader of North Korea, Kim Jong Un. The US President emphasized that the North Korean side was informed about his visit and that he maintains good relations with Kim. “I get along with him very well,” he noted. The last time the two leaders met was in 2019, during Trump's first term.
As part of President Trump's Asian tour will also visit Malaysia and Japan. In Kuala Lumpur he will take part in the summit of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN), while in Tokyo he will meet the new Prime Minister of Japan, Sanae Takaichi.
The head of Japan's government was sworn in this week and is considered a protégé of the late Prime Minister Shinzo Abe. Abe, nicknamed the “Trump whisperer”, stood out for his ability to effectively conduct diplomatic relations with the American leader during his first term. Trump himself emphasized that he had a “fantastic relationship” with Takaichi.
