University of Craiova drew on Thursday evening, score 1-1, with the Armenian formation Noah, at the “Ion Oblemenco” stadium, in the second stage of the single group of the UEFA Conference League. Although the Oltenians led at the break, they failed to manage the advantage and were tied in the second half.

The president of the club, Sorin Cârțu (69 years old), was visibly dissatisfied with the team's performance, especially in the first half, where his expectations were much higher.

Sorin Cârțu: “I didn't play a great game, I'm disappointed”

“I could have had more chances, but we didn't play a great game, especially in the first half, even though we were in the lead. It's a disappointment, maybe it's a travesty. Radoi does the best analysis.

I was disappointed because I had a modest first half. I expected a rush, more pressure.

However, I was in the advantage, whether I deserved it or not, it was 1-0 and maybe the situation should have been handled differently”, said Cârțu at the end of the game.

The President of the University also spoke about the attitude of the players in the offensive phase

“In the first half I didn't like the attitude of the forwards. They should have exploited the positions they won more and got more out of those situations, whether fouls or combinations.

There we lost a lot of balls, I'm sure that's why we didn't even reach the goal and didn't shoot at the goal. It wasn't the pressure I was expecting.”

When asked about the fact that Baiaram was sent to the stands by Mirel Rădoi, although he was on the game sheet, the president of Craiova avoided a sharp answer:

“I don't know what it's about, I can't comment. I knew there was nothing between them. I can't take sides.”

University of Craiova, one point in 2 stages

After this draw, the University of Craiova remains with one point after two stages in the only group in the Conference League. In the next round, Mirel Rădoi's team travels to Vienna, for the duel with Rapid.
