Rospotrebnadzor told Krasnoyarsk residents what foods should be consumed to maintain the health of the thyroid gland.

The first place in the ranking of specialists is occupied by sea fish: cod, salmon, herring, mackerel, flounder and so on. To obtain a sufficient amount of useful substances, you need to eat about 200–300 grams of such fish daily. In principle, all marine life contains a lot of iodine and selenium, so seafood – shrimp, mussels, octopus can also be included in the diet to support the thyroid gland.

In the second position is garlic. The vegetable contains iodine, selenium and tyrosine – everything that is needed for the full functioning of the thyroid gland. By the way, onions are also good for the thyroid gland – like garlic, it is better to eat them raw.

Nuts will also help support the functioning of the thyroid gland and normalize it: pine nuts, walnuts, hazelnuts and almonds. They occupy third place in the top of Rospotrebnadzor.

Algae is in fourth place, the product is rich in iodine and selenium. And if previously there were no other seaweeds in stores besides canned seaweed, now you can find anything: crispy nori leaves for rolls, dried kombu seaweed for aromatic broth and chuka salad.

Persimmon closes the ranking; it contains magnesium, potassium, vitamins A, C and P. Since ancient times, thyroid diseases have been treated in the Caucasus with the help of this berry, for example, the appearance of goiter due to hyperthyroidism.

Let us recall that earlier experts told residents of the regional capital about the unexpected benefits of plums for health and life extension.
