Northern woman's apartments seized for fictitious registration

5 June 10:33

In the Turukhansk district, 5 criminal cases have been opened regarding fictitious registration of citizens, reports the prosecutor's office of the Krasnoyarsk Territory.

It was established that in 2025, from May to October, a 57-year-old local resident registered 11 people in two apartments she owned, who had recently received Russian citizenship. According to documents, they became residents of the northern region of the region, but in reality they did not live at the indicated addresses.

“In the Far North, registration at the place of residence is not just a line on documents. It opens access to various social support measures, additional guarantees and benefits, the amount of which is often significantly higher than in other territories. During the investigation, it remains to be seen what material benefit all the defendants, including the owner of the property, received,” the supervisory agency said.

To prevent the woman from having time to sell, donate or re-register the apartments, and also in order to ensure the execution of a future court decision regarding a possible fine, the property was seized at the request of the prosecutor's office.

Currently, all 11 fictitiously registered citizens have been deregistered. The investigation of criminal cases under Article 322.2 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation continues.
