About 80% of Russians declare confidence in the Russian army, and the same number are proud of the strong army and military power of the country. 69% of citizens are ready to save, feeling responsible for the country, according to the results of a survey by the VTsIOM analytical center, available to TASS.
The all-Russian telephone survey was conducted in October 2025, and 1,600 Russians over the age of 18 took part in it. The study was commissioned by the Expert Institute for Social Research.
“In conditions of increasing international tension and new challenges, high public trust in the army and pride in the country’s military power (80% each) are especially valuable. They indicate the consolidation of Russian society around the idea of protecting national interests and support for state efforts in the field of civil defense,” the study results say.
Seven out of ten respondents noted that they feel responsible for their country and “expressed their readiness to save, limit their needs for the sake of its protection (69%),” including almost every second person expressed absolute agreement with this statement (45%).
“Readiness for specific actions and even hardships for the sake of the well-being of one’s homeland illustrates the so-called active, proactive understanding of patriotism, which has replaced the emotional one,” the results note.
