The iconic bakery goes out of business. The Reczyńskis have been active since 1979.

The bakery could never complain about the lack of customers. The problem lies elsewhere, as entrepreneurs assure. “Even though there are desires, my body and my wife's forces us to stop and give our tired bodies a rest” – this is how the owners of a well-known bakery explain their decision in a post on Facebook.
As described by the local portal Wszczecinie.pl, the history of this artisan bakery began in August 1979. Since then, little has changed in the hall itself or in the store. Bread was still baked in this place in a traditional way. Andrzej Reczyński took over the running of the bakery from his father in 2002. There were regularly queues of customers at the point. In 2017, the bakery received the Economic Award of the Mayor of Szczecin.
“Years of work, tons of flour and bread, lots of stairs from the bakery to the store (from the bottom to the top and back), sleepless nights and days, stress and nerves (breakdowns, inspections, employees)… All this left its mark,” describes the entrepreneur.
Now he admits that there is nothing else he can do with the business. “Our children chose a different path in life, and our grandchildren are still too young,” he says.
The wSzczecinie.pl portal adds that perhaps not all is lost. There is a “museum option” – theoretically the point could also be taken over by the city. However, there are no specific plans for now.
It is also possible that there will be someone who will want to take over the plant and continue running the bakery.
“Maybe there will be someone with charisma and dedication to run this plant and bake bread in the same traditional way, without spoiling the brand established by our predecessors,” Andrzej Reczyński describes on Facebook.
“The wonderful history of this place and our predecessors obliges us. That's why we don't know what to do next yet,” wrote the owner of the bakery, which is located in the very center of Szczecin.
