In Krasnoyarsk, police returned 300 thousand rubles to two elderly women, which they gave to scammers, and prevented the transfer of another 410 thousand rubles, police said.

In early October, two pensioners, 86 and 74 years old, became victims of a well-known fraud scheme. Unknown people called them and introduced themselves as employees of the law enforcement agency and the Central Bank. The scammers said that accounts with large sums were opened in their names. Therefore, women are allegedly suspected of financing a military company. To remove suspicions, pensioners were asked to declare the funds they have by handing them over to the courier via taxi delivery.

An 86-year-old woman in Krasnoyarsk gave 260 thousand rubles to the courier, and a 74-year-old woman gave 40 thousand rubles. The second pensioner was also going to hand over another 410 thousand rubles to the courier later that day.

The courier, who was supposed to take the money from them, was detained at the request of a 73-year-old Krasnoyarsk resident. The man gave him 1.5 min rubles using the same scheme. During the interrogation, the young man received a message about 300 thousand that the pensioners planned to transfer. The police intercepted these funds and returned them to the owners.
