KrasCom spoke about preparing its ships for the winter navigation period.
On October 20, the 2025 navigation season officially ends on the Yenisei, but for the KrasKom water transport, which transports employees of Krasnoyarsk water intakes, the shipping period lasts all year round.
You can drive by road only to three of the six Krasnoyarsk water intake structures located on river islands. On the islands of Kazachy, Verkhneatamanovsky and Nizhneatamanovsky, pump operators, laboratory chemists, mechanics and electricians are transported to their work sites by water.
“Our ships do not leave for the winter,” says Oleg Goncherov, general director of KrasKom. — The work of the enterprise’s river transport, like the work of water intakes, does not stop for a minute, because Krasnoyarsk residents always need drinking water, regardless of the time of year or day. To ensure the safe transportation of people and special equipment, our captains-mechanics constantly improve their control skills, setting out on a voyage at any water level in the Yenisei, both in shallow water and during high water.”
Traditionally, every autumn the pusher tug “Nadezhny” and motor boats undergo technical maintenance before transportation in the conditions of the Siberian winter on the ice-free Yenisei.
Ship mechanics check the operation of engines in various modes, and divers clean propellers and rudders from seaweed, ropes, sticks and fishing nets caught in the summer.
