There was a robbery during the opening of the Louvre museum in Paris on Sunday morning, Rachida Dati, the French Minister of Culture, reported on the X website. The museum said it would remain closed that day.

According to Rachida Dati, no one was injured in the attack. “I am on site along with the museum team and the police,” she added.
The incident occurred after the first visitors arrived at an unspecified time. Law enforcement officers are currently on site and visitors are asked not to enter the museum, French media reported.
The Louvre museum said on X that it would remain closed on Sunday “for extraordinary reasons.” Neither the museum nor the French culture minister provided information about the stolen exhibits. (PAP)
