On October 15, the bill, which has already been nicknamed the “OLX tax,” was supported by the relevant parliamentary committee.
The OLX platform itself noted, that the document does not comply, as declared, with legal norms European Union. The project “threatens millions of Ukrainians who sell used items online, without a commercial purpose,” the Interfax-Ukraine platform quotes a statement.
The company drew attention to the fact that people will have to proactively pay tax, even if the annual sales turnover does not exceed € 2 thousand (about 97 thousand UAH) Euro.
Getmantsev says that in the bill “there is no preliminary payment of taxes,” and the committee decided “to provide a benefit of € 2 thousand, regardless of the number of sales to each Ukrainian.”
“Let me remind you that now, for about 20 years, all sales of any movable property of people are subject to tax. We are eliminating this injustice. Separately, I would like to address electronic platforms that violate the law by disseminating false information. If you do not understand that in connection with the current rule on taxation of everything that moves, you and all your clients are, to put it mildly, in a vulnerable position, and the proposed law is in your and your clients’ interests, I advise you to change lawyers,” the people’s deputy wrote.
